Director Biography

Matthew Wilhelm

Director

Matt Wilhelm is a civil litigation attorney and an avid outdoorsman. He is passionate about preserving the natural environment for the enjoyment of people –  present and future – and for the protection of critical and sensitive ecosystems. Matt wants residents in every corner of Avon to have nearby access to public land. He was raised in Cream Ridge, New Jersey, a town that had more horses than people. He witnessed first-hand how unfettered development impacts the natural environment.

Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, backpacking, camping and canoeing. He is an Eagle Scout and has visited about half our national parks in the lower 48. Currently, Matt is a member of Trout Unlimited Northwest Conn. Chapter and Bristol Fish and Game Assoc. The son of a builder, Matt is knowledgeable about various types of construction, which proves useful to ALT on occasion. When he’s not working or volunteering with ALT, Matt spends time with his wife Raagan, daughter, Heidi and a good dog named Max.
